Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Samira Naji Kazem, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, organized a discussion session titled Developing Social Responsibility Among University Students<\/em>. The session was presented by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yusra Abdul-Sahib, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ores Khaled, Dr. Amal Safih, and Dr. Raga’a Mareij.<\/p>\n

The aim of the activity was to develop social responsibility among university students, which is considered one of the core values that contribute to building a cohesive and sustainable society. Universities provide an ideal environment for fostering this responsibility, offering students the opportunity to engage directly with societal issues through university activities, volunteering, and organizing social campaigns. These experiences allow students to acquire leadership and teamwork skills, as well as develop solutions to problems they face.<\/p>\n

The session emphasized the importance of focusing on implementing specialized educational programs, such as workshops, seminars, awareness courses, and campaigns that help spread the culture of volunteering, cooperation, and participation in local and global projects supporting various social causes such as education, health, and environmental preservation. It was also emphasized that universities should play a role in providing support for students by establishing student clubs dedicated to social responsibility and offering opportunities for participation in decision-making. This strengthens students’ sense of belonging to society and instills in them the value of teamwork and active participation.<\/p>\n

In conclusion, developing social responsibility among university students not only benefits the individual but also improves society as a whole, enhancing its cohesion and progress, and contributing to achieving the sustainable development goals in quality education, and sustainable cities and communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
