The compounds were prepared through chemical synthesis and analyzed using advanced spectroscopic techniques, including <sup>13<\/sup>C-NMR, <sup>1<\/sup>H-NMR, UV-Vis, and FT-IR, to confirm their chemical structures.<\/p>\n<p>the prepared chalcone derivatives were studied theoretically which including quantitative descriptors such as electronegativity (\u03c7), energy gap (\u0394Egap), hardness (\u03b7), electron withdrawal (\u03c3), electron highest occupied molecular orbital (E<sub>HOMO<\/sub>), and energy lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (E<sub>LUMO<\/sub>) were estimated. The tendency of an atom or group to attract electrons to itself while combining with another atom is known as electronegativity (\u03c7).<\/p>\n<p>This study, conducted in the laboratories of the College of Science at the University of Baghdad, included \u00a0thin films of the chalcone derivatives were prepared using the Pulsed Laser Deposition (PLD) technique, and their structural and morphological properties were analyzed using XRD, AFM, and SEM. These thin films were tested in solar cell applications<\/p>\n<p>The most important recommendations reached by the thesis are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Preparing other types of chalcone compounds using other substituents of acetophenone and benzaldehyde. Such as [ CH<sub>3<\/sub> ,OCH<sub>3<\/sub>, F \u00a0] .<\/li>\n<li>Using other diagnostic techniques for chalcone compounds such as Mass spectroscopy (MS): Allows the molecular weight of compounds to be determined and their chemical composition examined.
