[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The master’s thesis, ” Preparation, Spectroscopic Characterization, Theoretical\u00a0 and Biological Study of New complexes with Ligands Derived from a Heterocyclic Ring” was the topic of discussion at the College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad.<\/span><\/p>\n

Student: <\/strong>Thuraya Qais Sabah Nasser.<\/span><\/p>\n

The thesis’s goal is to synthesize a new types of ligands for the \u00a0\u00a0Mannich\/Mannich-Schiff base and to prepare new complexes through the reaction of the prepared ligands with some transition metals: Co (II), Ni (II), Cu (II), Pt (IV) Pd (II), Au (III)., (II) Cr, Fe (II), Mn (II), Zn (II) Cd (II) and to propose the structural formulas of the ligands and the expected spatial shapes of the prepared complexes. Study the biological activity of the prepared compounds against bacterial isolates (positive and negative) and fungi.<\/span><\/p>\n

The study was done at the University of Baghdad’s College of Science for Women’s Chemistry Department in the laboratories of the College of Science for Women’s. Three types of ligands belonging to the Mannich and Mannich-Schiff base was synthesized . The prepared ligands and their complexes were characterized using different spectroscopic and physical techniques, \u00a0C.H.N.S. ,FTIR, UV-ViS, 1<\/sup>HNMR, 13<\/sup>CNMR, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductivity, in addition to measuring the melting point and mass spectrometry. The antibacterial and antifungal activity of the ligands and complexes was studied against two types of negative and positive bacteria. The prepared ligands and complexes of the prepared compounds were studied theoretically using the Hyperchem 8.0.7 program and using the AMBER and (PM3) methods.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The letter makes the following key recommendations:<\/span><\/p>\n

1- Preparation of new Mannich base and Mannich-Schiff derivative 2-\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mercaptonbenzamidazole heterocyclic ring.<\/span><\/p>\n

2- Preparation of new complexes of Mannich base using other Transition Metals.<\/span><\/p>\n

3- Preparation of new ligands from the reaction of Mannich base with other ligands.<\/span><\/p>\n
