{"id":13445,"date":"2026-05-10T11:48:21","date_gmt":"2026-05-10T08:48:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=13445"},"modified":"2026-07-13T12:00:07","modified_gmt":"2026-07-13T09:00:07","slug":"algae-and-industrial-applications-featured-in-a-scientific-workshop-organized-by-the-department-of","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=13445","title":{"rendered":"Algae and Industrial Applications Featured in a Scientific Workshop Organized by the Department of Biology"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, <strong>Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim<\/strong>, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Department of Biology, organized a scientific workshop entitled <strong>&#8220;Algae and Industrial Applications.&#8221;<\/strong> The workshop was presented by <strong>Ms. Taybat Adnan Wahab<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0Dr. Saja Hassan Abdul Ameer<\/strong>, and <strong>Ms. Ruwaida Abdullah Abdul Hussein<\/strong>, with the attendance of a number of faculty members and students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop explored the importance of algae as a promising biological resource with diverse industrial applications. It highlighted their use in the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries, as well as their role in biofuel production and the treatment of contaminated water.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The presentations also examined the biological and chemical characteristics of algae that make them a sustainable and environmentally friendly resource.
