Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim<\/strong>, the Continuing Education Unit organized a scientific workshop entitled “Blackmail and Its Relationship to Domestic and Community Violence.”<\/strong> The workshop was presented by Ms. Rafal Hisham Jasim<\/strong> and Ms. Iman Kadhim Jabr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The workshop examined the concept of blackmail in its various forms, with particular emphasis on cyber blackmail (electronic extortion)<\/strong>, and explored its direct relationship to the escalation of domestic and community violence. It also reviewed the major factors contributing to the spread of this phenomenon and discussed its psychological and social consequences for individuals and families.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the presenters outlined preventive measures against blackmail and appropriate strategies for responding to such incidents. They emphasized the importance of community awareness and the promotion of legal literacy as essential tools for reducing the prevalence of these harmful practices and strengthening societal resilience.<\/p>\n

The workshop concluded by reaffirming the importance of raising awareness among students and the wider community about the dangers of blackmail and its detrimental impact on family cohesion and social stability. It also emphasized the need for collective cooperation among educational institutions, families, and relevant authorities to combat this phenomenon and foster a safe environment founded on mutual respect, legal awareness, and shared human values.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
