The workshop was presented by <strong>Professor Dr. Khdiim Khudhair<\/strong> and <strong>Dr. Faiha Miqdad<\/strong> in <strong>Abdul Hakim Hall<\/strong>, with the attendance of a number of academic staff, employees, and students.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop addressed the concept of biological oxidative stress as an imbalance between the production of free radicals in the body and the biological system\u2019s ability to neutralize them or repair the resulting damage. This imbalance leads to damage to cells, proteins, and DNA, making oxidative stress a key factor in the development of many diseases.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop also examined the main causes of oxidative stress, including environmental factors such as pollution, radiation, and smoking, as well as psychological stress, poor nutrition, and deficiencies in antioxidants within the body. In addition, it highlighted certain chronic diseases that contribute to increased free radical production.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding management strategies, the presenters explained that reducing oxidative stress relies on a combination of preventive and therapeutic approaches.
