Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, Dean of the College of Science for Women, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Unit, organized a scientific workshop entitled “The Impact of Candidiasis (Candida Infection) on Women’s Health.”<\/strong> The workshop was presented by Ms. Zainab Adel from the Women’s Affairs Unit and Ms. Shaimaa Mohammed from the Quality Assurance Unit.<\/p>\n

The workshop introduced candidiasis (Candida infection)<\/strong> as one of the most common fungal infections affecting women. It discussed the primary causes of the infection, including weakened immune function, the inappropriate or excessive use of antibiotics, hormonal changes, and lifestyle-related factors. The presenters also reviewed the common clinical manifestations of candidiasis, diagnostic approaches, and currently available methods of prevention and treatment.<\/p>\n

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of health awareness, maintaining good personal hygiene, and adhering to medical advice and prescribed treatment protocols to reduce the incidence and spread of Candida infections. In addition, the workshop examined the potential impact of candidiasis on women’s overall health, highlighting the complications that may arise if the condition is left untreated or inadequately managed.<\/p>\n

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of increasing health awareness among women regarding candidiasis and effective preventive measures. Promoting awareness of this common fungal infection plays a significant role in enhancing public health, improving quality of life, and strengthening health literacy among students and researchers alike.<\/p>\n
