{"id":12827,"date":"2026-04-22T11:34:34","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T08:34:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=12827"},"modified":"2026-06-14T11:36:01","modified_gmt":"2026-06-14T08:36:01","slug":"scientific-workshop-on-the-application-of-depreciation-functions-in-microsoft-excel-in-collaboration-with-the-department-of-quality-assurance-and-university-performance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=12827","title":{"rendered":"Scientific Workshop on the Application of Depreciation Functions in Microsoft Excel in Collaboration with the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Using Depreciation Functions in Microsoft Excel for Institutional Assets\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <\/strong>Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, <strong>Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim<\/strong>, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the <strong>University of Baghdad Presidency \/ Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance<\/strong>, organized a scientific workshop entitled <strong>\u201cUsing Depreciation Functions in Microsoft Excel for Institutional Assets.\u201d<\/strong> The workshop was presented by <strong>Dr. Yasser Nouri Mohammed<\/strong> and <strong>Ms. Fatima Abdul Bari Hussein<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop aimed to introduce participants to the concept of depreciation and its vital role in the management of institutional fixed assets, as well as its significance in preparing accurate financial reports and supporting sound administrative decision-making processes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop included a detailed explanation of the most important depreciation functions available in <strong>Microsoft Excel<\/strong>, such as the <strong>Straight-Line Depreciation Function (SLN)<\/strong> and various <strong>Declining Balance Depreciation Functions<\/strong>. Participants were introduced to the methods used to calculate the reduction in asset value over time in a systematic and accurate manner. In addition, the workshop demonstrated how to develop comprehensive depreciation schedules that facilitate the monitoring, management, and analysis of institutional assets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Furthermore, the workshop addressed practical applications through the presentation of real-world examples and interactive exercises, which contributed to reinforcing theoretical concepts and transforming them into practical skills applicable in professional work environments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop also highlighted the importance of employing modern computing technologies to enhance administrative and financial performance.
