{"id":12729,"date":"2026-04-22T10:56:15","date_gmt":"2026-04-22T07:56:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=12729"},"modified":"2026-06-08T11:42:25","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T08:42:25","slug":"training-course-on-plasma-and-its-modern-applications-organized-in-cooperation-with-the-continuing-education-unit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=12729","title":{"rendered":"Training Course on Plasma and Its Modern Applications Organized in Cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"119\" data-end=\"268\"><strong data-start=\"119\" data-end=\"268\">Department of Physics Organizes a Training Course Entitled \u201cThe Fourth State of Matter: Plasma\u201d in Cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"270\" data-end=\"796\">Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, <strong data-start=\"339\" data-end=\"375\">Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim<\/strong>, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Physics, organized a training course entitled <strong data-start=\"492\" data-end=\"533\">\u201cThe Fourth State of Matter: Plasma.\u201d<\/strong> The course was presented by <strong data-start=\"562\" data-end=\"604\">Ms. Malak Mohsen Atiyah<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"606\" data-end=\"640\">Ms. Rafal Hisham Jassim<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"693\">Ms. Hind Kadhim Abdul Rasool<\/strong>. The event was held in <strong data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"737\">Abdul Hakim Hall<\/strong> and was attended by a number of faculty members and staff.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"798\" data-end=\"1126\">The training course focused on plasma as one of the most important advanced physical states of matter. It highlighted the unique properties that distinguish plasma from the three classical states of matter\u2014solid, liquid, and gas\u2014and reviewed its wide-ranging applications in fields such as energy, medicine, and modern industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1128\" data-end=\"1516\">During the course, plasma was introduced as one of the most significant and abundant states of matter in the universe. The presentations explained its nature as an ionized gas composed of charged particles, including ions and free electrons, which endow it with distinctive characteristics such as electrical conductivity, responsiveness to magnetic fields, and the ability to emit light.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1518\" data-end=\"1859\">The lecturers further explained that plasma occurs naturally in stars, including the Sun, and is also observed in natural phenomena such as lightning. In addition, the course highlighted its extensive utilization in various industrial and medical applications, underscoring its growing importance in scientific and technological advancement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-start=\"1861\" data-end=\"2130\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The course witnessed active engagement from participants, who contributed through questions and discussions.
