Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim<\/strong>, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Chemistry, organized a scientific workshop entitled \u201cThe Biochemistry of Digestion and Its Role in Intestinal and Skin Health.\u201d<\/strong> The workshop was presented by Ms. Suha Nasr Fadhil<\/strong> and Ms. Marwa Raad<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The workshop provided a comprehensive scientific explanation of the biological processes involved in food digestion within the human body. Particular emphasis was placed on the role of digestive enzymes and digestive secretions in breaking down complex food compounds into simpler absorbable nutrients. The workshop also highlighted the close relationship between digestive health and the balance of beneficial intestinal microbiota, demonstrating its significance in strengthening the immune system and its direct impact on maintaining healthy and radiant skin.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the workshop addressed the importance of a balanced diet rich in dietary fiber and essential vitamins, emphasizing its role in supporting digestive system functions and preserving intestinal health. Such nutritional practices contribute to improving overall health status and reducing the risk of various skin-related disorders.<\/p>\n

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of enhancing the knowledge and skills of students and researchers in understanding the biochemical foundations of digestive processes.
