The College of Science for Women at the University of Baghdad discussed the master\u2019s thesis entitledExtraction and Isolation of Flavonoid Compounds from the Parasitic Plant Cuscuta campestris and the Host Plant Dodonaea viscosa and Evaluation of Their Biological Activities, submitted by the student Rusul Adil Sabaa.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

[vc_column_text css=””]The thesis included the extraction and isolation of flavonoid compounds from the plants Cuscuta campestris<\/em> and Dodonaea viscosa<\/em>, along with the characterization of their chemical properties, in addition to evaluating their biological efficacy by investigating their antioxidant activity and cytotoxic effects on certain cancer cell lines.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

The most important recommendations which the study has come up with and the average obtained.<\/p>\n


\n<\/strong>It is recommended to conduct advanced studies, including in vivo experiments, to evaluate toxicity and therapeutic efficacy. It is also suggested to expand the scope of the study to assess the antibacterial activity against various pathogenic bacterial strains and to deepen the molecular understanding of the effects of the extracts on cancer cells. This includes performing molecular and genetic analyses to investigate apoptosis, such as DNA damage assessment, cell cycle analysis, and the evaluation of apoptotic pathways and the activity of related proteins, such as caspases.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>
