{"id":11797,"date":"2026-02-15T10:09:17","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T07:09:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=11797"},"modified":"2026-03-01T11:43:50","modified_gmt":"2026-03-01T08:43:50","slug":"the-department-of-chemistry-organizes-a-scientific-workshop-on-single-atom-catalysts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.csw.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=11797","title":{"rendered":"The Department of Chemistry Organizes a Scientific Workshop on Single-Atom Catalysts"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Science for Women, Prof. Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim , the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Chemistry, organized a scientific workshop entitled \u201cSingle-Atom Catalysts.\u201d The workshop was presented by Dr. Inam Hussein Ali.<br \/>\nAimed to keep pace with the latest research developments in the field of applied chemistry and to promote a culture of scientific research among researchers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop addressed the fundamental concepts of single-atom catalysts as an advanced generation of catalytic materials based on anchoring individual metal atoms onto suitable supports. This approach contributes to maximizing catalytic efficiency, reducing material consumption, and lowering costs. The workshop also reviewed the most recent applications in the fields of energy, environment, and chemical industries, highlighting the role of these catalysts in enhancing the efficiency of chemical reactions and minimizing the formation of harmful by-products. In addition, challenges related to their synthesis and characterization using modern spectroscopic and microscopic techniques were discussed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The workshop witnessed notable scientific interaction and an exchange of perspectives on future research prospects in this field, as well as the importance of employing such catalysts in research projects that contribute to serving society and the national industry. This workshop was conducted in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 related to affordable and clean energy, through supporting research that contributes to the development of more efficient energy production technologies and the reduction of emissions.
