Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College of Science for Women, Dr. Samira Naji Kadhim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Life Sciences, organized a scientific workshop entitled \u201cThe Relationship Between Language and Biology (Linguistics and Neuroscience).\u201d The workshop was delivered by Ms. Salma Dawood Salman and Assistant Professor Dr. Israa Saqr, as part of the college\u2019s scientific activities aimed at supporting interdisciplinary integration between the humanities and life sciences, and enhancing the academic and cultural level of students and staff.<\/p>\n

The workshop addressed the interactive relationship between language and biological processes in the brain, highlighting the field of neurolinguistics and its role in understanding the mechanisms of language production and comprehension, and their connection to nervous system functions. It also reviewed key recent studies demonstrating the influence of biological and neurological factors on human linguistic and behavioral abilities.<\/p>\n

The workshop further explained the importance of this scientific field in diagnosing certain linguistic and neurological disorders and its role in developing therapeutic and rehabilitative methods. It emphasized its contribution to expanding collaborative research between linguistics, biology, and neuroscience, in ways that support the advancement of modern scientific knowledge.<\/p>\n

The workshop concluded with constructive scientific discussions and valuable contributions from participants, enriching its themes and affirming the importance of organizing such workshops in promoting interdisciplinary thinking, linking theoretical knowledge with practical applications, and developing research expertise in areas that bridge language and life sciences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
