Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, a cultural and educational event entitled \u201cThe Arabic Language in the World of Numbers\u201d was held for first-year students of the Department of Mathematics at the College Library. The event was attended by the Head of the Library Unit, Ms. Alaa Talib Nassar, and Ms. Ghufran Qasim Alwan, who supervised the event, along with a number of first-year female students.<\/p>\n

The event began with an opening speech delivered by the Head of the Library Unit, followed by a speech from Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Qasim. Both speeches highlighted the importance of the Arabic language in scientific disciplines, particularly in mathematics.<\/p>\n

The program included short research presentations addressing various themes related to the Arabic language, such as the relationship between language and mathematics throughout the history of Arab civilization, the role of language in logic, proof, and analysis, examples of mathematical terminology of Arabic origin, a presentation on Al-Khwarizmi and the establishment of algebra, and the journey of Arabic numerals between East and West.<\/p>\n

During the event, a literary recitation segment was presented by the students through reading literary texts and reciting poems about science and language, which added an atmosphere of interaction and creativity to the event.<\/p>\n
