Under the patronage of the esteemed Dean of the College of Science for Women, Professor Dr. Sameera Naji Khdim, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Department of Physics, organized a training course entitled \u201cThin Film Technologies in Controlled Drug Delivery.\u201d The course was held in Al-Hakim Hall with the participation of a number of faculty members, staff, and female students.<\/p>\n

The course was presented by Ms. Shaimaa Ibrahim Mahmoud, Ms. Iman Kazem Jaber, and\u00a0 Ms. Zainab Raad Salman.<\/p>\n

The course aimed to introduce the latest technologies used in the medical and pharmaceutical fields, particularly thin film technologies employed in drug delivery systems. These technologies represent a significant advancement compared to traditional methods, as they provide higher accuracy in dose delivery and help reduce side effects.<\/p>\n

The course addressed the essential properties required for thin films, such as uniform thickness, flexibility, porosity, and biocompatibility, ensuring their efficiency and safety for use inside the body. It also reviewed manufacturing methods using natural and synthetic polymers, selected according to the type of drug and the desired release mechanism.<\/p>\n
