Master’s <\/span><\/span>Discussion<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The College of Science for women at the University of Baghdad discussed the master’s thesis entitled (Studying Phosphatidylinositol 3 Kinase, Neurotrophin 3, and Bone Morphogenetic Protein 10 in the Sera of Patients with Thalassemia).<\/p>\n

Objectives of the Thesis<\/div><\/span>
[vc_column_text css=””]This thesis aims to evaluate selected serum biomarkers in a sample of Iraqi patients with thalassemia, compared with healthy individuals. The study included the measurement of routine hematological parameters using automated hematology analyzers, biochemical tests using spectrophotometric methods, and hemoglobin electrophoresis to determine of hemoglobin patterns. Serum levels of Phosphatidylinositol 3-Kinase (PI3K), Neurotrophin-3 (NT-3), and Bone Morphogenetic Protein-10 (BMP-10) were measured using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

Content of the Thesis<\/div><\/span>
[vc_column_text css=””]The study was conducted at the University of Baghdad \/ College of Science for Women \/ Department of Chemistry, and Al-Karamah Specialized Center for Genetic Blood Disorders in Baghdad \/ Iraq, during the period from December 2024 to March 2025. Routine laboratory parameters were measured using spectrophotometric methods, while PI3K, NT-3, and BMP-10 levels were determined using the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) technique.[\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

[vc_column_text css=””]: The most important recommendations of the thesis include:<\/p>\n
    \n
  1. Conducting future multicenter studies with larger sample sizes to validate the diagnostic and prognostic roles of PI3K, NT-3, and BMP-10 in beta-thalassemia.<\/li>\n
  2. Investigating longitudinal changes in these biomarkers in relation to therapeutic interventions and organ complications.<\/li>\n
  3. Integrating molecular biomarkers with routine laboratory tests to improve early risk stratification and clinical monitoring of beta-thalassemia patients.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
