About the Department of Biology Sciences<\/div><\/span>

The Department of Life Sciences has enjoyed since its establishment a distinguished scientific reputation within the University of Baghdad. In general, the department devotes the capabilities to maintain the highest scientific level, as the department provides a wide study and research program within the specialization of life sciences in order to provide scientific opportunities for primary and postgraduate students. Every year, many original scientific researches are carried out in various fields of life sciences. The department has about 85 affiliates, most of whom hold master’s and doctoral degrees. The members of the Department of Life Sciences are distinguished by their high ambition and aspiration to raise the scientific level to the international level. In this regard, a number of the department’s employees are currently continuing their studies outside Iraq and will supplement the department after completing the study requirements. At the level of preliminary studies, the department provides the opportunity to obtain a bachelor’s degree in life sciences by giving practical and theoretical lessons as well as scientific research in almost all branches of life sciences, as the subjects taught during the four academic years qualify graduates to work as biologists wherever they are needed in the fields of work. The number of new students admitted to the department has increased over the past years.<\/p>\n

\nis to provide the community with educated graduates who are distinguished to work in the fields of research, education, health, environmental protection and sustainability, and lead civil society and are able to keep pace with the developments of the times, enhance the status of women as an essential component of society and rid them of the constraints of backward legacies that hinder their aspirations.<\/p>\n

\nThe Department of Life Sciences at the College of Science for Girls seeks to prepare qualified leaders with skills that keep pace with scientific development. [\/vc_column_text]<\/div><\/div>

  1. Preparing qualified graduates to work in the various fields of life sciences and occupying qualified positions to occupy them with high efficiency in society and have the ability to overcome problems.<\/li>\n
  2. Understand the biological facts and keep abreast of rapid developments in the life sciences and acquire skills that lead to the preparation of students towards the different career paths of the life sciences.<\/li>\n
  3. Preparing specialists in the fields of life sciences with a high scientific qualification (master’s and doctorate) and scientific experience that helps them solve biological problems and provide scientific advice.<\/li>\n
  4. Contribute to the development of scientific research in Iraq by conducting scientific research and contribute to solving the problems of state institutions related to the specialization of the department.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
